Oh my goodness – less than one week and we’ll be leaving Jakarta! It’s been a long time in the planning but it still seems to have come about remarkably quickly. In a week’s time we’ll be in Portugal lazing on the beach, in a month or so we’ll be in NZ getting the boat and ourselves ready for action and then before we know it, it will be Christmas!!

Last night we had our Farewell Party at a bar called Liquid Exchange, in Epicentrum in central Jakarta. The bar is managed by Andrew, a friend of Neil’s from the pool team, and he went out of his way to make the night fantastic. We took over the outside terrace which was perfect for the fifty or so friends who came along. It was a lovely, cool evening, the booze was flowing, good chats, good company and dancing (or lurching around in my case!) when the live band started up.

Thanks to everybody who came along to the party and to all the friends we’ve met in our four point five years in Jakarta – it would not have been half as much fun without you and I hope our paths cross again someday.
